This is a supervisory position where the incumbent is a current good manufacturing
practice (cGMP) professional who understands the standards and principles of
auditing manufacturing facilities for cGMP compliance and manages GMP specialists.
This individual must be capable of analyzing all elements of a quality system
and judging its degree of compliance with the criteria of quality management,
evaluation and control systems. The individual will be expected to assist companies
in compiling dossiers for World Health Organization (WHO) prequalification.
The incumbent effectively assists in the establishment of manufacturing, QA,
QC processes, and documentation requirements for WHO prequalification and will
assist the Director in the evaluation of cGMP, QA, and manufacturing records
received from manufacturers.
M.S. degree in Chemistry, or other related fields with minimum of 7 years relevant
experience in conducting cGMP audits of pharmaceutical companies engaged in
the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients and/or pharmaceutical
products. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must have some industry experience in the establishment of quality system compliance
within pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. . Minimum of 3 years supervisory
experience of personnel and GMP programs. A Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
is preferred.

Pharmaceutical Systems Africa, Liberia, is recruiting for academic positions
at the School of Pharmacy, University of Liberia. Pharmaceutical Systems Africa,
with funding from developmental partners, has embarked on strengthening the
existing pharmacy course by instituting a new curriculum, streamlining the student
recruitment process, establishing professional development programs, identifying
candidates for higher degrees abroad and employing expatriates in the interim
to staff existing positions at the School of pharmacy.
Technical support for this process is provided through an initial grant from
the Global Fund to Fight AIDs, Tuberculosis and Malaria's Health Systems Strengthening
(HSS) mechanism.
1. Dean
In collaboration with the Vice President, Health Sciences and Development Partners,
the Dean will provide oversight and leadership for the vision, design, development,
planning, implementation and evaluation of the new phase of the pharmacy program
at the University of Liberia. The Dean will also ensure the implementation of
a newly revised pharmacy curriculum, coordinate, prepare and deliver lectures;
guide and assess students; organize and supervise clinical placement of students;
participate in the selection of students; design, conduct and supervise research
activities related to the rational and safe use of medicines; and other responsibilities
as recommended by the Vice President, Health Sciences, University of Liberia.
Qualifications
- PhD (preferred), PharmD or Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- An advanced qualification in Management Studies (certificate, diploma or postgraduate
degree)
- Minimum of five years practice experience
- Experience in research and publication; in teaching pharmacy students and
in managing a pharmaceutical department/ program in a recognized institution
of higher learning
- Proficiency in writing and speaking English
- Proficiency in the use of computer applications for word processing, spread
sheets, internet, email, presentations and statistical analysis
- Ability to design and develop training curricula and course materials
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work as part
of a team
- Strong organization, project management and group facilitation skills
- Familiarity with Educational Quality Assurance Systems and Pharmacy Course
Accreditation
- Qualifications Framework or other similar systems in WAHO region will be an
added advantage
2. Lecturers/Assistant/Associate Professors [3 positions]
The pharmacy lecturer/assistant/associate professor will ensure implementation
of the revised curriculum; prepare and deliver lesson plans; guide and assess
students; organize and supervise clinical placement of students; participate
in the selection of students for the course; and design, conduct and supervise

responsibilities as recommended by the Dean and Vice President, Health Sciences.

Examensarbeten eller del av apotekspraktik utomlands för farmacevter
Ulf Rydell är apotekare och styrelsemedlem i Farmacevter utan
Gränser och har lång erfarenhet av att arbeta i låginkomstländer
med farmacevtiska frågor.
Vietnam
Ulf har flera kontakter på olika sjukhus i och runt Hanoi, Vietnam, som
skulle kunna vara användbara för blivande farmacevter. Kontakter finns
också på hälsoministeriet och på Hanois universitet.
Om någon farmacevtstudent vill göra sitt examensarbete eller motsvarande
i Vietnam, erbjuder Ulf sig att FÖRSÖKA förmedla en kontakt där,
dock EJ att fungera som handledare eller hjälpa till med examensarbetet
på annat sätt.
Ghana
Farmacevter utan Gränser har också vissa möjligheter att förmedla
kontakter i Ghana för studenter som vill göra del av sin apotekspraktik
(2 veckor) i landet. Däremot kan FuG inte bidra till finansiering av praktiken
i landet.

Farmacevt sökes omgående till insats på Haiti
Läkare utan Gränser behöver en farmaceut som helst har erfarenhet
av att ha arbetat, alternativt rest mycket, i ett låginkomst land till
ett av projekten på Haiti. Personen behöver dessutom kunna kommunicera
på franska och vara tillgänglig i 1-2 månader med start
redan 20/2.
Det som behövs göras är att få ordning på de läkemedel
och material som skeppats in till Haiti och som man inte har haft möjlighet
att sortera upp på ett bra sätt. Personen i fråga skulle behöva
komma till Läkare utan Gränser och delta i en rekryteringsprocess
innan klartecken kan ges.
